Directions to the new meeting place

Our goal for the November meeting is to determine if NEMUG is currently meeting your needs. The NEMUG board would like your valuable input regarding how NEMUG might better serve you, the membership, and the technology community it represents.

The information we gather during our discussion will help us build the guideposts for all of NEMUG's activities in the future. We need your participation to help us determine our future course.

It is important that we begin this discussion at this time because we are ready to tackle some very important projects. We need to define our objectives for the next fiscal year. Also, it is time for us to redesign our newsletter and our web site. The members of NEMUG should put these very critical projects into focus. This is your opportunity to tell us how NEMUG could best serve you, its members.

To this end, the November meeting will be used to hold a facilitated discussion designed to guide us in defining who we are and what are our goals for the future. Anthony Pilozzi, a member of the NEMUG Board, will be the facilitator for this meeting.

We will start the discussion together by talking about “who we are” and what the high level goals of the organization should be. Be prepared to share your opinions on the following:

• What is the "mission" of NEMUG?
• How can NEMUG best support its members?
• How do we support the outside world with regard to our technology?

We will then divide into groups. Each group will be assigned a major functional area derived from the previous discussion. The groups will be tasked with developing tactics and defining measures of success for their functional areas.

We will then regroup and allow others at the meeting to provide feedback.

The NEMUG board will then take your valuable input and use it to develop plans for the coming year. (Of course, you, the membership, will have a chance to review and approve the plan.)

It is very important for you to be with us on November 11th. Your participation will help insure that NEMUG is effective and continues to meet your needs. Together we will chart a course; together we will make the journey. We'll see you in November!
